Sludge Thickener Plant. Carlton Controls Ltd won the contract to build the Motor Control Centre for the Sludge Thickener Plant & Washwater Recovery Plant. The Control Panel (below) was designed to accommodate various pump controls that function in a duty/standby and/or duty/assist environment. There are a total of 18 starters in the MCC, all controlled and monitored by a PLC system with data connection to telemetry. The polymer dosing plant was then upgraded, followed by the more recent addition of the High Lift Pump Air Circuit Breaker incomers and the refurbishment of the existing High Lift Pump controls.

Refurbishment of existing MCC to house 6 off 65 kW 'soft start' borehole pump starters, 2 off 37 kW variable speed booster pump starters & 2 off 150 kW 'soft start' booster pump starters. Modicon PLC & MMI supplied, installed and programmed to fully automate the pumping regime to suit water demand.
